The Joy of my work is in the Reveal!
I am excited to share with you some of my "work in progress".
I love all the many stages of my projects.....as I step by step
take Nature's hidden treasures and reveal their beauty for all to enjoy!!!!
Sometimes when a tree falls over the complete root system is pulled up as well.
The roots are intricate weaving of wood, often having rocks intertwined.
I am working on two roots now...one that will hang on the wall, the other a sculpture.
I have yet another one....waiting in my drying studio!!
I found this piece in the water....7 feet in length....and immediately named it: "Magnificent"
I have worked on it over the last couple of years, and with each sanding and varnishing more of its' grandeur has been revealed. My next step is to mount it, which will be no small feat!
I envision "Magnificent" as a showcase piece in someone's grand room or in a room with a cathedral ceiling....where Nature's beauty will inspire all who see it!

I found this piece in the winter. The swirls in the wood and its beautiful cylinder shape jumped out at me....WOW!
"Swirls" is now on the art bench, as I work through the first rounds of my multi-layered process....I have to be very careful not to destroy any of the natural beauty of the piece.

I love the simplicity of movement in these three piece. When I put them together they remind me of forest trees blowing in the wind. I have just completed some of the inital hand sanding.....so lots of work still to do.
Beavers are active in my forest
and often leave wonderful works of art after they are done with a tree!
